Lemons into Lemonaid
On Saturday we had our first 8:00am soccer game of the season. Being a girl who likes to sleep in on the weekends, I wasn't too thrilled about having to be up at 7:00 to get the boy fed and ready and out the door at 7:45. But we did it.

Since we were going to be up and ready so unusually early on a Saturday, we decided that after the game we would go fishing. Friday night we went and got licenses and a new pole for the boy. Then Saturday after the game we packed up the car and headed to Pineview Reservoir up Ogden Canyon.
The weather was perfect; warm and overcast, with intermittent sprinkles.
We were there for 6 hours and brought home 2 fish.

The fish that we hooked, but didn't bring home are now a thing of legend....our very own Moby Dick of sorts...it broke our line twice and then jumped into air mocking us belligerently. I'm not exactly what we would have done had we actually caught something that big....
So, waking up early on a Saturday isn't such a bad thing after all. It gave us an excuse to get out of town, and the house all day and have a fun time together. It also provided us with a nice fish dinner on Sunday night.

Go us!

Spinning the World Like a Toy Top
I'm sure that I have been driving the people who are officed near me crazy this week. I have had this song on repeat (like I do), singing along, playing air guitar, and miming drums with a total disregard of who may be looking through my window or standing outside my door. My own little world within a world.
Here is a link to the studio version from "Figure 8". Can't make a sound

100 Greatest, Gayest Albums of All Time
Out Magazine polled more than 100 actors, comedians, musicians, writers, critics, performance artists, label reps, and DJs, asking each to list the 10 albums that left the most indelible impressions on their lives. These were tallied and compiled into the "100 Grestest, Gayest Albums of All Time".
I am not sure how I feel about this (and not just because Radiohead is nowhere to be found on this list).
First Kanye has to makes his album "blacker".
Now Out has to label albums "gayest"?
I understand wanting a sense of culture and community, but doesn't it feel like taking a step back wards in humanity?
Am I taking this all too serious?
I hate it when I do that.
Read the list of "100 Greatest, Gayest Albums of All Time" here.
I'll give you a hint of who is #1.... David Bowie. That was more than a hint wasn't it?

From 0 to 30 in 946708560 Seconds
Happy Birthday Baby Brother.

I have been told that I didn't much care for you when you were born. Being under the age of 2 at the time, I have no memory of this, but given that fact that I scribbled your face out of every picture of us together during that time....it may have been true.

I hear stories that we were constantly fighting and always at each other's throats, but I don't remember that either. Sure, I shoved you off the dog house onto a cement trawl and you had to go get stitches.....I made you eat bird poop off the top of the swing set, and rabbit poop, and the meaty strands in "Kibbles n'Bits", but I don't remember ever not liking you. You always felt like my other half, and for 30 years I have considered you one of my best friends, and I am very glad that you were born.

Thank you for 30 years of adventures. Thank you for choosing a wonderful wife and bringing a beautiful little girl into the world. The three of you make my heart full and happy.

I love you.
Love,
Sis
