Lemons into Lemonaid

On Saturday we had our first 8:00am soccer game of the season. Being a girl who likes to sleep in on the weekends, I wasn't too thrilled about having to be up at 7:00 to get the boy fed and ready and out the door at 7:45. But we did it.

Since we were going to be up and ready so unusually early on a Saturday, we decided that after the game we would go fishing. Friday night we went and got licenses and a new pole for the boy. Then Saturday after the game we packed up the car and headed to Pineview Reservoir up Ogden Canyon.

The weather was perfect; warm and overcast, with intermittent sprinkles.

We were there for 6 hours and brought home 2 fish.

The fish that we hooked, but didn't bring home are now a thing of legend....our very own Moby Dick of sorts...it broke our line twice and then jumped into air mocking us belligerently. I'm not exactly what we would have done had we actually caught something that big....

So, waking up early on a Saturday isn't such a bad thing after all. It gave us an excuse to get out of town, and the house all day and have a fun time together. It also provided us with a nice fish dinner on Sunday night.

Go us!

It must be a good time when we really didn't even mind getting rained on, you know?

Yeah, the Moby Dick. Dammit. The vision of him jumping is etched on my eyes.

You guys are awesome. Those fish look great and NONNON looks a little like Tom Waits holding his catch there.

Tom Waits??? Hahahaha. Intersting. A week ago, the guy at 7-Eleven asked "has anyone ever told you that you look like James Hetfield?" Apparently, it's a good thing because, according to him, he's "the man".

You hold that fish so......naturally.... let's just say that creating Fear Factor for me would not be hard. I respect your fearless-ness.
